Women In Science
Zonta Women's Community Radio Project takes a microscope to see women working in science and asks why there are so few. Special guest Dr. Carolyn Webber, Clinical Professor of Pathology Emeritus, and Sharon Weekes-Threash, Westchester County NY Senior Microbiologist/ Quality Assurance Manager share with us their career paths. Zonta Club news feature by Donna Tillman highlights an important science award given to New Zealand women scholars by our sister Zonta Club in New Zealand. Our program intern from the University of Michigan, Christina Albert produces our sports segment interviewing high schooler, scholar, and rowing champion Rosa Kemp.

I just listened to your radio show on women in science, a particularly interesting topic because two members of Peconic Bay Zonta are science writers at Brookhaven National Laboratory, a federally funded science research center on Long Island.
To increase the number of women in science, Brookhaven Lab sponsors educational programs that target young women. It's important to set up a pipeline for women so that someday we will have more of the likes of your wonderful guests Carolyn Webber and Sharon Weeks-Threash.
