Zonta Club of New Rochelle Hands are for Holding Video Contest

I am pleased to announce we have a winner for our “Hands are for Holding” video contest.  Marissa Hall, a member of Girls, Inc.  is our winner and Martha Kemp-Neilson is our runner up.

As you will recall, our club sponsored this competition as part of our Zonta Says No to Violence Against Women and Girls campaign.  The aim of the contest was to help raise awareness of dating violence and abuse among teens and pre teens through a public service announcement.  We invited teens in the New Rochelle area to submit a 2 to 3 minute video.

Marissa Hall's video is entitled,  “Holding On/ Letting Go”.  This video  was both informative and clever in its execution.  The narrative was strong and offered practical solutions to teen would find themselves in dangerous or unhealthy relationships.   A link to video can be found here:Holding On/Letting Go

Zonta "Hands are for Holding" Video Contest 2015

“Hands are for Holding” Video Contest
The Zonta Club of New Rochelle invites you to create a public service announcement video. Open to Westchester County Residents in Grades 9-12

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. A Contest is being developed by the Zonta Club of New Rochelle as part of the Zonta International’s Zonta Says No to Violence Against Women and Girls Campaign. The aim of this video contest is to help raise awareness among teens and preteens to dating violence and abuse through the creation of a Public Service Announcement. We seek talented young high school grade 9-12 artists, writers and filmmakers to creatively deliver that message.
The theme is “Hands are for Holding” and the campaign is the “ Zonta Says No to Violence Against Women and Girls". Violence against women and girls knows no national or cultural barriers and affects millions in peacetime and conflict. The dates, rules and guidelines will be published here and on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/zontanewrochelle
